If you suffer from bloating then aniseed is the answer to your prayers. Simply chew on a tablespoon of aniseed after every meal. You can even have aniseed in between meals. However, take care not to eat aniseed in excess since it is known to curb hunger as well.
Take a fresh bay leaf (two, if you are using the dried variety), break it and add it to a cup of boiling water. Boil the leaf in water for five minutes. Allow the water to cool before drinking it. Bay leaf water will provide you relief from bloating almost instantly.
After drinking the water sit or stand in an upright position to get rid of the gas quickly. Repeat the treatment after every meal so that the food gets digested properly and no fermentation takes place inside the digestive system.
Peppermint tea works wonders on our muscles. It causes the muscles to get into relax mode which immediately releases the trapped gases in the small intestine. It is this gas that is responsible for bloating. Take a teaspoon of dried peppermint leaves and add them to 200ml of boiling water.
Boil the leaves for 10 minutes. Strain the water and drink it after cooling. Do not add sugar to the tea. However, you can add a teaspoon of honey to improve the taste. You can have peppermint tea four times a day to get rid of painful bloating.
Chamomile Tea and Essential Oil
Chamomile has been used extensively in the treatment of various stomach disorders like stomach flu, menstrual cramps, ulcers etc. The herb is effective in the treatment of bloating as well.
Prepare chamomile tea and drink at least 4-5 cups of the tea every day if you suffer from severe or frequent abdominal bloating. Chamomile tea packs can be bought from any health food store.
You can also use chamomile essential oil for treating abdominal bloating. Mix five drops of chamomile essential oil with one teaspoon of olive oil. Mix the two oils well and gently massage the stomach with this oil combo. Do this at least three times a day to get rid of the gas completely.
