Pastas and noodles contained whole grains must be chosen over those which are made up of refined flour. When choosing rice, the patient should choose brown rice over white rice.

Lean meat is good for those who are suffering from gerd. Meat with fat must be avoided as it is rather difficult to digest. Chicken and fish are much healthier options than red meat. However, even lean red meat is not harmful if it is consumed in small amounts by the patient.
