Prepare a glass of fresh aloe vera juice using the following recipe – take one leaf of aloe vera and peel off the green skin of the leaf to reveal gel-like substance. Potato juice for acid reflux

Drinking a glass of potato juice early in the morning will help you deal with acid reflux throughout the day. Clean the potato thoroughly in running water so that the skin is completely dirt free. Without peeling off the skin grind the potato in a juicer. Drink the juice by adding a little amount of fresh apple juice to it.

Ginger for acid reflux:

Drink ginger water after every meal to treat acid reflux. Prepare ginger water by boiling one medium sized ginger in a cup of water. Peel the skin of the ginger and grate the ginger before adding it to boiling water. Boil the ginger in the water for 5-7 minutes and then remove from heat. Let the water cool and then strain it. Drink it as it is or you may add ½ teaspoon honey to the concoction.

Apple cider vinegar for acid reflux

Prepare a concoction of apple cider vinegar by adding two tablespoons apple cider vinegar in a glass of water. Drink the solution at one go. Keep drinking the apple cider-water mixture through the day. Have as many as five glasses of this mixture to effectively keep heartburn at bay. You can even add ½ teaspoon honey to the mixture in order to add some taste to it.

Baking soda for acid reflux

Prepare a drink of ½ teaspoon baking soda and ½ cup water. Sip on the solution in between meals. Baking soda in combination with water will neutralize the acids present in the stomach and prevent regurgitation and irritation in the food pipe. However, do not drink too much of this solution as it can increase the quantity of salt in the body leading to high blood pressure. Pregnant women should not make use this of treatment to treat heartburn.

Water for acid reflux

Fennel seeds for acid reflux:

Fennel seeds are also a popular remedy for various digestive issues including acid reflux. Simply chewing on fennel seeds will help you relieve heartburn. You can even prepare fennel water and sip the water through the day to prevent acid reflux. Add half cup fennel seeds to boiling water. Boil for 10 minutes and then remove from heat.

Strain the solution and sip on the fennel water through the day. Drinking fennel water is a good heartburn remedy for even pregnant women. Fennel seeds have Anethole, a compound which is helpful in controlling the spasms caused in the muscles of the stomach. Anethole effectively takes care of the gastrointestinal tract spasms as well. Hence fennel seeds are used in the treatment of acid reflux.

If you suffer from acid reflux frequently then you must avoid eating three large meals in a day. You should take six small meals in a day and resist from binging on starchy and fatty foods. Your meals must be simple and prepared without use of too much oil and spices. Eating fresh fruits and vegetables will help you reduce frequent attacks of acid reflux. However, do not eat too much of citrus fruits because the citrus acid in them can aggravate the condition of acid reflux.
