Glass Multi-Touch Keyboard and Mouse Features
Looks
Generally, keyboard and mouse do not excite you that much when it comes to their styling and looks. They are your average input devices and do not leave much for anything other than performing right. However, what we are reviewing here is way cooler than your average keyboard and mouse. We have here a keyboard and mouse that is made out of tempered glass and hence no protruding keys.
So it uses the FTIR technology for its cool multi-touch feature that allows you to gently tap on the designated keys and buttons for performing their functions. The combo also does not use any wires for added convenience and comes with a metal base. The glass combo is transparent and it gives it that one-of-a kind feel.
Functioning
The glass keyboard and mouse use the multi-touch feature based on the Frustrated Total Internal Reflection technology. This technology uses infrared LEDs that are placed alongside the glass borders and reflects the light within the glass body.
The reflecting light gets deflected when a key gets tapped on and the deflection is then picked up by a small camera. Then a calculation is run by the software which identifies the location and the signal is forwarded to the computer. The devices use open source software which would allow one to customize their functioning, according to their needs and convenience.
The glass multi-touch keyboard and mouse can be connected to both a PC and an Apple Mac through Bluetooth and they run on Lithium Batteries that can be recharged as well.

Naming
The donors have also been given the responsibility of naming the product and anyone who donates as little as $10 gets the chance to submit their desired name for the product and if it is selected then the donor would get the complete combo package for free.
Glass Multi-Touch Keyboard and Mouse Price
Any concept needs financial backing to go into production. It’s the same for the glass multi-touch keyboard and mouse. Jason Giddings of Giddings Product Development has been raising funds for the multi-touch glass keyboard and mouse through a Kickstarter program and has already got past the set $50,000 mark that he had set for starting production.
One can start contributing from $10 upwards. However, you need to contribute a minimum of $150 to own a glass multi-touch mouse and $250 for the keyboard. For the glass multi-touch combo, you have to shell out $350. This might sound too much but given the uniqueness of the product, we believe it’s worth every penny.
