Chronic fatigue can be irritating, frustrating, demoralizing and demotivating. You may feel helpless and unable to achieve your goals. This condition can lead to other problems like an inferiority complex or even depression. Common fatigue can be easily dealt with home remedies, which help you to maintain your energy levels and remain active.
Home Remedies for Fatigue
Water is a natural energiser. You should drink 6-8 glasses of water every day to prevent dehydration. Insufficient water intake causes exhaustion and will leave you feeling tired and fatigued after doing little physical work. Take Sweet Lime water in summer to boost your energy level. Lemon has high content of vitamin C; it helps to build stamina and promotes endurance power.
Banana is a rich source of potassium. This mineral is necessary to make your muscles move and keep you active. Eat one or two bananas in the morning to feel energetic throughout the day.
Eat a healthy breakfast comprising of oats, wheat porridge, multigrain bread or wheat flakes. They contain complex carbohydrates and they help to stabilize blood sugar level. Avoid refined flour products as refined flour causes fatigue and it slows down your basic metabolic rate.
Boiled or grilled potato boosts energy. Potato is brimming with potassium and complex carbohydrates. Soak slices of one medium potato in water for 5-6 hours and drink the water. It is a great tonic to fight fatigue.
Milk is rich in calcium, vital proteins and vitamins. It gives instant energy and it cures insomnia and constipation, the two factors responsible for causing fatigue. Drink one glass warm milk at bed time for a better sleep and to prevent constipation.
Honey is light to digest and it is more beneficial than sugar. Honey gives you instant energy. It contains rich amounts of glucose, iron, copper, manganese, calcium, potassium, phosphorous and sulphur. It stimulates the nervous system and it fills the body with strength and vigour.
To fight fatigue, add one tablespoon honey in half a glass of warm water, add a few drops of lemon juice and drink it at bed time. You will wake up with renewed energy the next morning.
Jaggery improves digestion, gives strength and it promotes energy level. Eat a small piece of jaggery after meals for good digestion and to prevent fatigue. Diabetes patients can also eat jaggery in small amounts to relieve fatigue.
Spinach contains potassium and vital minerals and vitamins. It helps to boost your energy level and relieves fatigue. Add spinach to the vegetables, dals or include it in the soup.
Extract juice of 100 grams spinach, one medium tomato and one small carrot and drink it first thing in the morning to ward off fatigue throughout the day.
