The aspirant should look for giving a good first impression. A formal Indian or western attire is preferred by the interviewers. Dressing should be done in a very neat and sober manner. Conservative line of clothes is better. Jewelery, perfumes and flashy clothes should be avoided.

You can avoid any time wastage by preparing your clothes (for example by ironing) well before the interview date. This will also help you to avoid last minute issues like having a wrinkled tie, a strained shirt, shirt with fewer buttons and a pair of shoed that are not polished. You can also improve your looks by going to the salon, trimming your nails etc. You should try to have a professional look for giving the right first impression.

Have the Interview kit Prepared

The aspirant should collect all the material required for the interview neatly placed in a file a day before the interview is going to be held. You can keep the reference letters, your resume’s extra copies, transcripts, reference lists, passport size photographs, your certificates and other supporting documents, calculator, writing pad, pen etc.

Relax Yourself

The aspirant should have a good sleep during the night which occurs before the interview. He/she should also be calm, sober and relaxed to be successful in the interview.

At the Time of the Interview

The aspirant must focus himself/herself during the interview. All the worries should be kept aside. The cell phone should be switched off. The aspirant is considered more confident if he/she makes eye contact. Introduction should be done in a clear manner by giving the first and last name. At appropriate times the candidate can smile. Answering to a question should be done after understanding them.

Right and specific answers show that the candidate has the right knowledge. The tone of talking should be slow and crisp. Do not lie during the interview and give the answers to the best of your knowledge. Try to avoid any kind of bad mouthing or blaming. The aspirant can use this opportunity and ask some relevant and intelligent questions which can give a summary of his/her experience or skills for the job. This will show that the candidate has interest in the job.

The candidate must be confident during the interview. He/she can answer most of the questions easily if he/she has done the homework properly and has undertaken at least some amount of practice for the answers. Other relevant topics can also be studied.

The aspirant should also try to convince the panel that he/she would be able to understand the more complex job requirements and aspects that he/she would be facing during the course of performing job activities. Knowledge of the basic concepts can also be useful. Dressing and acting in a professional manner is good. Be on time for the interview and throughout the interview try to make eye contact with the panel.
