Salt Consumption

Reduce the consumption of salt in the diet. Salt causes the heart to pump blood faster, aggravating the problem of hyper tension.

Garlic

It is said that high consumption of garlic can considerably reduce high blood pressure. It helps to thin the blood out making it easier for the heart to pump blood.

Exercise

One must exercise especially if you are obese or overweight. Being obese clogs the arterial walls of the heart making it difficult for the heart to pump blood thus increasing the heart rate and giving rise to hypertension.

Take 40 minutes of exercise 4-5 times a week to bring down your blood pressure and also to reduce the incidence of cardio vascular diseases.

Fish Oil

Fish oil like cod liver oil helps in reducing blood pressure levels. It contains and important acid like DHA (docohexaenoic acid) that significantly brings down the body’s blood pressure.

Folic Acid

Folic acid is another vital component, necessary for a healthy heart. In a study, people who took four weeks of folic acid supplementation, significantly showed lower levels of blood pressure. It is a vital vitamin, important for the formation of red blood cells.

Diet

Reduce the intake of artery clogging, high cholesterol food like cakes, biscuits, pastries, sweets and red meat. Increase your intake of good cholesterol foods like beans, walnuts and legumes. Have rich sources of dietary fibre like fresh fruits and green leafy vegetables.

Honey

The goodness of honey can reduce the problem of high blood pressure. Just mix some honey in a glass of lemon juice and have it. Alternately, mix a tea spoon of honey with some ground cumin seeds and ginger powder. Sip on this water throughout the day. This will help in reducing blood pressure.

Treatment with Fenugreek and Ajwain

Put a few fenugreek seeds and ajwain in half a cup of water. Boil this water and leave it over night. Strain and drink this water. It helps in getting rid of bloating, water retention and high blood pressure.
