Motorola S11-FLEX HD Price & Review

Motorola brings in market their new Bluetooth powered headset, the S11 Flex HD. Being a successor to the S10, this new device revolutionizes the world of wireless headsets by improving upon many of the features, the customers were expecting for a long time.

Motorola S11-FLEX HD Features

Design

The S11 consists of a plastic body that gives it a soft touch but there’s a flaw in design. This device sometime tends to break off from the middle after extensive use, which is a huge minus point.

Motorola S11-FLEX HD

Having a dimension of 5.2 x 5.28 x 1.81 inches, this product weighs 1.9 ounces, which still feels heavy on the ears.

Comfort

This device flaunts a wrap-around design instead of the conventional on-ear design, that makes it stay on the ears while doing yoga, jogging, gym or any such work that involves a lot of movements. It comes packed with four different sizes of ear buds for people with different needs. It also comes with an adjustable band for a much firmer fit behind the head. It has five adjustable points & even the ear buds swivels, tilts & grows in length so that they are well placed inside the ears & gives a comfortable fit. It also has an anti-moisture coating & is layered with silicon seals to make it sweat proof.

Sound

The sound quality is undoubtedly impressive & is much better than wired HD sound. Hearing the sound, it doesn’t seem at all that it’s a wireless Bluetooth headset.

It comes with five equalizer settings with balanced bass & treble that sounds so crisp & clear with outside noises completely blocked from coming into the ears.

Interface

Right after the device is switched on, a female voice greets the user specifying the amount of time the charge would last. The right ear lines up with a power switch, volume control, LED status light & a rubber covered micro-USB port. The left ear has a multi-function switch which is pushed once to pause, twice to skip forward & thrice to skip backward. This is a very nice innovation where a user no longer needs to remember the switch they are pressing. Only the sequence needs to be known.

Telephone Calls

It comes equipped with dual mic for a better phone conversation. The first mic picks up the sound of the user while the other mic captures the surrounding sound, thus cancelling it, which is excellent. But when the person on the other end talks, the headset seems like a speakerphone, which could be well heard even when it is held at a distance from the ears.

It connects upto two devices at the same time & if being used with a cell, then during music playback, it also notifies the user for any incoming texts or mails. When any call comes, the device even reads out the number of who is calling which is surprisingly, very good.

Bluetooth Functionality

It connects easily to most of the devices. Motorola claims that this wireless headset has a Bluetooth range of 150 ft. But when tested, the sound began to sound fade & disturbing from 40 ft itself, which is still better than its counterparts.

Battery

The battery life is the best part of this device. A 5 min of charge lasts for an hour & a mere 15 min charge gives 3 hours of backup. When fully charged, this device can give a battery life of 5+ hours.
