Nokia has decide to reclaim its dominance in the cellphone market via Microsoft’s Windows operating system for smartphones.Nokia Lumia 620 is powered by Windows Phone 8 Operating system, successor to the Windows Phone 7.5 aka Mango operating system. Nokia Lumia 620 is the pioneer of Nokia’s next generation of smartphones after its earlier generation consisting of Nokia Lumia 610, Nokia Lumia 820 and Nokia Lumia 920.

Until a few years back Nokia, a leading Finnish communications and information technology multinational company, was the market leader. However after Samsung joined hands with Android, the leader was swiftly pushed back by Samsung.

The Lumia series of smart phones by Nokia in collaboration with Microsoft, its operating system provider, are Nokia’s attempts to regain its leader’s position.The phone is slated for an early 2013 release.

The phone has loudspeakers and also a 3.5 mm jack so you can also plug in your own pair of headphones.


Having an internal memory of 8 GB with a RAM of 512 MB, the phone’s memory is extendable up to 64 GB using external memory cards.


The phone supports both EDGE and GPRS services. It comes packed with NFC (Near Field Communication) features. It shall provide a speed of 21Mbps with the HSPDA network and speed of 5.76 Mbps with HUSPA network.


It provides the facility for high speed data exchange through A2DP Bluetooth version 3.0 and also has a micro USB slot. It also boasts of a WIFI LAN network card USB adapter.


It shall have a 5 megapixel auto focus primary camera along with LED flash along with resolution of 2592*1936 and a secondary VGA smart camera. The phone provides the geo-tagging facility and allows capturing a 720p video at 30fps.

It runs on second generation Microsoft Windows Phone 8 operating system. The operating system has received positive reviews from various technology experts and critics for its smooth flow and catchy features.

Windows Phone 8 is a successor to Windows Phone 7.5 that was used by Nokia in its previous generation smartphones that were released in 2011-12. The Microsoft Windows Phone 8 provides features such as kids’ corner, Nokia maps, data sense, mulch-tasking, rooms, web etc.
