Other than android, there are other competitors that are fast growing in the mobile market, such as Blackberry, or Windows Phone or iOS. The apple I phone 5 was a huge success and so was the Nokia Lumia 920. If the Lumia has the Wireless charging functionality, then the I phone has an excellent display and touch as always.

Features Comparison Between Nokia Lumia 920 & Apple Iphone 5

Body

Slimmer and more appealing looks of the I phone were just 7.6 millimeters thick and weighed feather light 112 grams whereas the Lumia was a bit heavy and thick, measuring 10.7 millimeters thick and weighing 185 grams. Although the Yellow theme of the Nokia did look good and felt good in hand, one cannot deny that nothing beats the exclusive and premium look of the I phone when held in the hand.

Body

Built up of glass and alloys of Aluminum makes the wonder happen. Although the Lumia is no less, makes the whole build in polycarbonate and zirconium for the buttons along with having a sturdily built back-body that prevents it from slipping away due to butterfingers.

Display

Both the phones showed off some excellent displays, with the apple having the LED-Backlit IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen and the Lumia had the IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen. Not to forget that Nokia also included the excellent PureMotion HD+ ClearBlack display that cuts off the unnecessary color and other things that render the display bad. But that also makes the display look dimmer than the other ones so keep that brightness level high. Viewing angles are great on both the phones but the Lumia had slightly lower than the Apple.

Display

In this case, Apple provided the best display and great viewing angles as well. As for the display protection, the best corning gorilla glass 2 is adopted by the Lumia whereas the Apple decided to keep it to corning gorilla glass with the usual oleo phobic coating added.

Hardware

Sporting 32 GB of internal storage, the Lumia ensures that one doesn’t even need a memory card for keeping anything; there is enough room for all the apps, media files and other stuff. And the Apple comes in 3 variants: 16, 32 and 64 GB. The downside is that neither of the two supports an SD card slot. 1 GB RAM on both the phones ensures that all the apps run in ease and multitasking remains a breeze as well.

Hardware

What sets Lumia better than the I phone is that it has the dual core 1.5 GHz krait processor with the Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon Chipset than the I phone that has the dual core 1.2 GHz processor with the latest apple A6 chipset that made the performance in the Lumia tad better than the Apple. Although the reason for apple’s brilliant display and the graphics were due to the PowerVR SGX 543MP3 with triple core graphics that makes the display a visual treat. The WP8 OS in the Lumia did show some changes where the users can now change the size of the tile but the iOS remained more or less the same with low levels of customization.

Camera

The 8MP snapper on both the handsets can click images at a resolution of 3264 x 2448 pixels. But the Lumia provided some more little features that makes the camera experience fully fledged. Providing Carl Zeiss optics, optical image stabilization, autofocus and dual LED flash made the flaws in low light photography a history.

Camera

The secret behind such marvelous pictures lies in the PureView technology that was last seen on the Nokia 808 PureView. The engines renders the low light conditions, reduces the excessive colors and does much more to create a result of an image so real that one will swear it’s fake. Though the I phone, too, snapped some good shots but it’s definitely a win on the Lumia here. Video resolution on both the phones were full HD 1080p at 30fps and both of them provided 1.3MP secondary cameras as well.

Connectivity

Nothing much to say here, both the phones support GPRS and EDGE along with Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n with Dual Band, Wi-Fi hotspot and DLNA (Only on Lumia).

Connectivity

Lumia had the older version of Bluetooth v3.1 whereas the Apple had the v4.0 version. The latest NFC technology is also added into the Lumia but is absent on the I phone.

Battery

The Lumia had the larger 2200 mAh battery than the I phone 5 that had the 1560 mAh battery. Although I phone ran longer in comparison to the Lumia, where it had 10 hours of video playback and web browsing, the Lumia had upto 6 hours of video playback and a little less in the web browsing.

One has to compromise in the comfort if the choice is the Lumia compared to the I phone and the battery life as well along with the apps that the I phone has no scarcity of. But there are many features added along as well that are not present in any phone so far.

Nokia Lumia 920 & Apple Iphone 5 Price

Priced almost the same at 36000 INR, the choice is upto the customer that comfort matters or the performance.
