The record-breaking worldwide sales of Samsung Galaxy SII have impelled the makers to upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich – the latest version 4.0 of Android – to make it even smoother and yummier. The ICS update improves not only performance but also battery life, browsing, sound quality and SNS integration. Besides, additional features have been integrated to complement ICS update. Since it is an operating system upgrade, user interface is of prime importance here. The first striking change is the lockscreen. Hence, a circle appears whenever you touch the screen. Just move the finger and the finger gets unlocked. It also supports face unlock that comes handy while on the go.

Task switcher too is represented as a vertically scrollable list of running apps. It does not even include recently used apps. Swiping an app off the screen would close it. Unlike in the old switcher that accommodated only 6 apps, the new task switcher includes apps to the capacity of RAM.

A dedicated Task Manager button at the bottom enables you to check RAM usage and close apps. A single notification can be removed from the bunch with a little swiping gesture. Battery life

Galaxy SII ICS update has a slightly better battery life lasting up to 8+ hours over 3G network.
