Green tea is rich in catechin polyphenols particularly epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). EGCG is an antioxidant which prevents the growth of cancer cells. And the best part is it does not harm the healthy tissue. The catechins hunts down free radicals which damage the DNA and contribute cancer.
Olives and olive oil contains plenty of antioxidants. They contain squalene and terpenoids which are anticancer agents. According to a Danish study diets which are rich in olive oil prevents body damage that ultimately leads to cancer. A team of Spanish scientists found that a diet rich in olive oil greatly reduces the risk of breast cancer.
Olive oil along with other components of the Mediterranean diet may prevent skin cancer. The carotenoids present in olives and olive oil develops the body’s resistance to the damaging rays of the sun.
High Fiber foods
Fiber otherwise known as roughage is responsible for overall health. Scientists found that pre-menopausal women who included lesser than 30g of fiber in their daily diet greatly reduced their risk of developing breast cancer. Fiber obtained from whole grains and fruits helps protect against breast cancer.

According to various studies when turmeric is used often in the diet it reduces the occurrence of breast, prostate and lung cancer. The curcumin present in turmeric prevents cancer by destroying mutated cancer cells.
The capsaicin present in chili pepper helps to stop the spread of prostate cancer cells. Fennel contains anethole which prevents cancer. Piperine which is got from black pepper and curcumin from turmeric are very effective in its action against breast cancer.
Berries And Citrus Fruits
Recent studies have shown berries and citrus fruits may help prevent cancer. Raspberries contain ellagic acid which is a powerful cancer fighting photo chemical. The berries have the high antioxidant properties. Wild berries are rich in antioxidants such as anthocyanidins which inhibit cancer development.
Berries prevent or control carcinogenesis. Berries may be said as potent cancer fighting fruits. Researchers at the Ohio State University found out that black raspberries inhibited the development of oral, esophageal and colon cancer in rats.
The fruits like lemon, grape fruit and mandarin oranges are rich sources of vitamins, minerals and phytochemicals which protect the body against cancer.
